Foodylands Trading: Bringing the Authenticity of Made in Italy to International Markets

In the dynamic landscape of agri-food distribution, Foodylands Trading stands out for its ability to combine authenticity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit. Born from a passion for high-quality food and a desire to give visibility to small Italian producers, the company has over time built a solid bridge between Italy and some of the most promising global markets, with a particular focus on the Middle East and Asia.
We interviewed the Foodylands team to learn more about their journey, the challenges they’ve faced, and the opportunities they’ve seized through their international expansion.

Can you briefly tell us how Foodylands Trading was founded and what the company’s core values are?

Foodylands Trading was born from a genuine passion for quality food and a desire to connect artisanal Italian producers with rapidly growing international markets. We sensed a growing demand—especially abroad—for authenticity, flavor, and tradition. From there came the idea of creating a platform that would highlight not only the products but also the producers. We started with a selection of niche brands and products, and thanks to a solid network of partners, we built an efficient distribution model aligned with our core values.

How has the company evolved over time, and what were the key turning points?

Foodylands has experienced rapid growth. From a company focused on importing a few products, we’ve become a solid structure with a wide portfolio, capable of serving various segments of the Ho.Re.Ca. sector. Key milestones include entering high-end malls and concept stores, forming strategic collaborations with chefs, hotels, and restaurant chains, and, notably, developing a 4.0 logistics and operational system. This allowed us to enhance efficiency by offering a fast, flexible, and customized service.

What drove you to expand into the Middle East, and what opportunities did you see in this market?

The Middle East is a constantly evolving region with a growing interest in high-quality gastronomy. Dubai, in particular, has proven to be a strategic hub due to its location, advanced infrastructure, and openness to innovation. Here, we found a cosmopolitan audience that values quality and the origin of products.
Expanding into this region was a natural step—it allowed us to consolidate our presence not only in the UAE but also in countries like Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. More recently, we’ve begun replicating our business model in Asian markets such as Singapore.

What strategies are you adopting to tackle the future challenges of the food & beverage sector?

We believe the key is to anticipate challenges rather than react to them. For this reason, we invest in digitalization, sustainability, and training. Our goal is to make our supply chain increasingly efficient by reducing waste and optimizing procurement and delivery times.
At the same time, we want to strengthen the connection between producers and consumers by sharing the stories behind each product and highlighting the work of the chefs who interpret them. Our ambition is to remain agile, preserving our artisanal soul while embracing a global vision.
