On June 16th, the 3rd Graduation of Teach For Italy will be celebrated in Turin, an event supported by Kelmer since its inception.
TFI works to counteract the growing educational inequalities in Italy, strengthening the public school system.
The event marks the conclusion of an intense experience and the beginning of a new phase: the 25 individuals featured in this ceremony celebrate the end of their two-year training journey (the Fellowship) as Teach For Italy Fellows. A journey that has seen them grow as transformative teachers in areas of Italy where educational poverty is most prevalent.
With the Graduation, the Fellows become Alumni: agents of change ready to dedicate the coming years to improving the educational ecosystem, each with their own path but united by a common vision of educational equity and social justice.
Currently, Teach For Italy has 35 Alumni, of which 71% are teachers, 20% work in the third sector locally and nationally in teacher training, 6% are active in educational startups and in research and policymaking, and 3% work in private companies.
Being an Alumni of Teach For Italy means being part of a committed and motivated community that shares a unique bond based on the Fellowship experience and a common mission to improve education and counter educational inequalities in Italy.
The Teach For Italy Alumni community plays an important role in pursuing the organization’s mission, contributing to creating a lasting impact in the field of education and addressing educational challenges in the Italian context. By staying connected to each other, to the territories in which they operate, and to Teach For Italy’s mission, they form networks with various stakeholders and facilitate change-oriented initiatives. As teachers, leaders, institutional representatives, policymakers, entrepreneurs, social innovators, or researchers, they contribute to redefining the purpose of education and policy choices focused on educational equity.
The two-year Fellowship experience with Teach For Italy has been a path of personal and professional growth for many of the teacher-fellows, leaving a profound mark on their lives. Teach For Italy Alumni, those who have completed the Fellowship program, have shared their testimony about the challenges they faced, the achievements they reached, and the impact the experience had on them as educators.
